VETERINARIANS - IS YOUR DOG OR CAT'S HEALTH THEIR PRIORTY OR IS IT MONEY?
Is your Veterinarian Really HELPING Your Dog or Cat?
"Why one Veterinarian quit, disgusted with a profession he once revered" by Helena Sung on Pawnation.com, a Vet tells why monetary gain and not the health and well-being of your cat or dog may be motivating your Vet. He confesses that expensive tests, medications, drugs and treatments are prescribed not necessarily because they are needed for the pet but because they bring in big revenues for the Veterinarian.

Unfortunately, this is very true. This is why I believe in holistic natural treatments and remedies for dogs and cats. I have a friend who took her cat to the Vet because it was sick. The Vet brow-beat her because she could not afford all the expensive tests that he recommended. Her cat later died in the Vet's office; of course she still had to pay the bill...
I really don't understand the medical profession as a whole. What else can you do and get paid if you don't produce results. The Veterinarian and medical system is based on a "let's try this, results not guaranteed," approach. If my mechanic said, 'well we can try this but if it doesn't work you still have to pay me,' I would be searching for another mechanic pronto; but Doctors get away with it on something much more important than a car, our life.
I feel the whole medical profession needs a serious overhaul. Our pets are not lab rats, to be experimented on. Our dogs and cats are not possessions, but live beings that demand our full dedication and respect.

I don't know about your vet but mine definately is crazy:)Although he is stated to the best in pug care, he speaks, looks and touches like a real tormentor:)When I asked him "when his fur will stop falling", his answer was: "after 15 years, hahaha" or "I think that recently he scratches more than usual" and he: "Don't you scratch yourself? Everybody does."...
Can you imagine? But if we exlude this he is really very good.
Hi,
Yes, I have come across some eccentric Vet's too. 1 Vet in my neighborhood was a boxer - he seems a little punch drunk - I only use him in extreme emergencies. Your Vet sounds a little eccentric too.
All the best,
Stacey
